Belmary Lorcas (Violin)
Graduate of Conservatory Simon Bolivar (BM) and Carnegie Mellon University (MM). She was a member of the “Simon Bolivar” Symphony Orchestra, touring with them to France and Chile. Belmary has been a faculty member, teaching violin lessons, coaching string ensembles, and performing for festivals and workshops at the most important conservatories and orchestras in Venezuela. An active chamber musician, Belmary has participated in recitals and music festivals in different venues in her native country as well as in the Philadelphia area. Since moving to Philadelphia, she performs actively in our area. With various roles as faculty artist, camp director and artistic operations: she was the Vivace Academy Coordinator and lead Suzuki violin instructor at CMS, faculty member of Dock Mennonite Academy, as a collaborator with the Dali Quartet participated for eight years in the Dali Chamber Music Camp, and Camp Director for the Philadelphia International Music Festival. Since 2017 she has been a part of the staff at Curtis Institute of Music as Summerfest Assistant and works as a consultant with different organizations including the Philadelphia Orchestra for outreach programs. Belmary performs actively as a violinist in different settings around the area collaborating with different organizations, an active collaborator with "Casa de Venezuela", a non-profit organization for the Greater Philadelphia area promoting and sharing her love for the folklore of her homeland.
